Flyers re-sign forward Nikita Grebenkin on two-year deal

The Philadelphia Flyers inked the forward to a two-year deal worth an average annual value of $1.1 million on Thursday.

Grebenkin, 23, was traded to Philadelphia by the Toronto Maple Leafs in March 2025 as part of the Scott Laughton deal.

The former fifth-round pick played just seven games with Toronto in his rookie campaign but followed that up with his first full NHL season in 2025-26, making 55 appearances with four goals and 10 assists.

Before making his way to North America, Grebenkin played parts of three seasons (2021-24) in the KHL, registering 67 points (28 goals, 39 assists) in 120 games. He earned the Alexei Cherepanov Award as the league’s top rookie in 2023.

Flyers, Jamie Drysdale settle on four-year deal, avoid arbitration

Jamie Drysdale is sticking with the Philadelphia Flyers for the foreseeable future. The two sides officially settled on a four-year deal on Friday, carrying an average annual value of $6.5 million, to avoid arbitration. After a breakout 2025-26 campaign, Trevor Zegras is staying put in Philadelphia.

The RFA centre and the Flyers agreed to a four-year deal on Wednesday, holding an average annual value of $9.125 million, the team announced .

“We're thrilled to have Trevor committed to our organization for the next four years,” said general manager Daniel Briere in a statement. “The growth he showed this past season, proving that he is the skilled player he entered the league as, reinforced our belief that he will be an impact player for the Flyers for the years to come. He's the type of player who can help take our team to the next level, and we're excited to continue building alongside him."

The new deal comes after Zegras potted career highs in goals (26) and points (67) in 81 games with the Flyers.

Philadelphia Flyers general manager Daniel Briere has issued the following statement:

“The Philadelphia Flyers have tendered an offer sheet to Anaheim Ducks center Leo Carlsson. The offer is a five-year contract worth an average annual value (AAV) of $18M, which would require four of the Flyers first-round draft picks in each of the next four seasons as compensation."

The Anaheim Ducks have seven days to exercise their right of first refusal on the player, per section 10.3 of the NHL collective bargaining agreement.

Goalie Dan Vladar signs five-year, $27.5M extension with Flyers ($5.5M AAV)

Dan Vladar signed a five-year, $27.5-million contract with the team, agent Dan Milstein announced on Wednesday.

Vladar will team with Joseph Woll, acquired from the Toronto Maple Leafs earlier this off-season, between the pipes.

The 28-year-old Czechia native is coming off a strong season with Philadelphia, where he posted a .906 save percentage and 2.42 goals-against average.

Vladar also led the Flyers to the second round of the playoffs, upping his game with a .922 save percentage and 2.18 GAA in series against the Pittsburgh Penguins and Carolina Hurricanes.

Panthers acquire Garnet Hathaway from Flyers

The Florida Panthers acquired the veteran forward, along with a 2026 sixth-round pick, from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 fourth-round pick.

Additionally, Philadelphia will retain 50 per cent of the $2.4 million owed to Hathaway in the final season of his current contract, both teams announced on Thursday.

Hathaway, 34, made 66 appearances with the Flyers last season and led the team in hits with 252, ninth most among all skaters in the NHL last season. He finished the year with one goal and two assists before adding another goal and assist through eight playoff games.

The 11-year NHL vet now heads back to his home state, as a native of Naples, Fla. Hathaway has logged 672 games over that span, split between the Flyers, Boston Bruins, Washington Capitals and Calgary Flames.
