Blues’ Adam Jecho to receive care from NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program

On Friday, the National Hockey League and the NHL Players’ Association announced that St. Louis Blues forward Adam Jecho is set to receive care from the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program.
Per a release , Jecho will be unavailable to participate in any team activities for an indefinite period of time. He’ll be able to rejoin the Blues when he’s cleared for on-ice competition by program administrators.

According to Katie Strang and Adam Kilgore of The Athletic , St. Louis Blues prospect and Arizona State University defenseman Matthew Mayich collapsed during an offseason workout last Thursday, sending him to the hospital. Per the report, the Sun Devils hockey team was participating in a “military-style” workout outdoors at Sun Angel Stadium on Aug. 20. The workout lasted close to 60 minutes, with people connected to the team describing the activity as extreme. The instructor for the workout was Tim Zeisel, a non-ASU employee and former military service member, who was first identified by The Arizona Republic . Mason McTavish ’s time with the Anaheim Ducks has come to an end.
Anaheim traded the 23-year-old forward to the St. Louis Blues , commissioner Gary Bettman announced at the NHL Draft on Friday.
The Ducks get the Nos. 15 and 29 picks in the first round of this year's draft in return. Anaheim took Saginaw Spirit winger Nikita Klepov, the OHL's leading scorer last season, with the No. 15 pick minutes after making the deal.
The first year of McTavish’s six-year deal ($7 million cap hit) with the Ducks did not go according to plan. McTavish fell out of favour with new coach Joel Quenneville, who slashed his ice time from 16:53 to 15:19 per game and scratched him at points during the team’s first playoff appearance in eight years.

The St. Louis Blues have traded the right winger to the Washington Capitals in exchange for forwards Connor McMichael and Milton Gastrin, as well as the 16th-overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft.
Kyrou, 28, recorded 46 points (18 goals and 28 assists) in 72 games last season.
Across 488 career games, all with the Blues, the Toronto native has accumulated 378 points (168 goals and 210 assists).
“We are thrilled to acquire Jordan and welcome him to our team,” said Capitals senior vice president and general manager Chris Patrick in the team's news release.
