Hurricanes sign Mike Reilly to one-year contract

The club announced that it has signed defenseman Mike Reilly to a one-year, two-way contract that will come with a price tag of $850,000 at the NHL level or $450,000 at the AHL level.
Reilly initially signed on with the Hurricanes ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, and he spent last season serving as the group’s No. 7 defenseman. With multiple injuries to Carolina’s blue line, Reilly saw plenty of action, skating in 42 regular season games while chipping in a goal and eight assists for nine points.

The Carolina Hurricanes have acquired forward Stiven Sardarian from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for future considerations, the team announced on Monday.
The 23-year-old winger recorded 44 points (12g, 32a) in 37 games with Michigan Technological University last season.
A native of St. Petersburg, Russia, Sardarian was named the Central Collegiate Hockey Association 2026 Forward of the Year and to the first all-star team after leading the league in points and assists.
Sardarian was selected in the third round, 88th overall by the Sabres in the 2021 NHL Draft.
