2026-27 NHL team preview: Nashville Predators

|Comments (0)

from Daily Faceoff (Frank Seravalli),

After an extremely disappointing 2024-25 season, the Nashville Predators entered 2025-26 with significantly lower expectations. There weren’t any drastic changes made (certainly not at the level of 2025-26), and after picking fifth-overall in the 2025 NHL Draft, it felt like the Predators were beginning a much-needed rebuild phase. A 6-12-4 start to the season had them in last place in the league, and all signs pointed to another step in that direction.

from Sportsnet,

The Nashville Predators signed forward Mavrik Bourque to a six-year, $33-million contract that carries an average annual value of $5.5 million, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported on Saturday.

Bourque, who was a restricted free agent, was dealt to Nashville from Dallas on Wednesday alongside Ilya Lyubushkin in exchange for a 2027 second-round pick and a 2028 third-rounder.

The 24-year-old Bourque broke out in his second full season last year, posting 20 goals and 21 assists in 81 games for the Stars before potting a goal in the post-season.

Over 156 NHL games, Bourque has totalled 66 points (31 goals, 35 assists) in his career.

Canucks deal forward Nils Hoglander to Predators for third-round pick

|Comments (0)

from Sportsnet,

Vancouver traded the Swedish forward to the Nashville Predators on Monday in exchange for a 2029 third-round draft pick.

Hoglander, 25, struggled in 38 games last season, recording just two goals and three assists.

The 25-year-old enjoyed a breakout 2023-24 campaign when he scored 24 goals while adding 12 assists, but has been unable to replicate those heights.

“We would like to thank Nils for his time in Vancouver, and we wish him the best with his new team Nashville,” Canucks general manager Ryan Johnson said in a statement. “Picking up another draft pick is important for us as we continue to try and accumulate assets for our rebuild.”
