from NHL.com,

Goalie Sam Montembeault sustained an undisclosed injury at practice Wednesday and will see a doctor Thursday to determine the length of his absence. "You never want to see anybody go down with an injury, and especially a guy like that, that's worked to get his game back and looked pretty good. Jacob Fowler will make his first start of the season against the Nashville Predators on Thursday (7 p.m. ET; RDS, TSN2, SCRIPPS). The 21-year-old goalie was recalled from Laval of the American Hockey League on Wednesday. He was 9-6-2 with a 2.43 goals-against average and .908 save percentage in 17 games with Montreal last season.
