KK Hockey — continuing the work in memory of Paul Kukla

About KK Hockey

KK Hockey is a daily NHL reading list. Stories are chosen by hand from a ranked list of hockey outlets, quoted briefly, and always linked back to the people who reported them. It is meant to be the thing you check in the morning and again at night — not a destination that keeps you.

Why it exists

It exists because of Kukla’s Korner and the man who ran it, Paul Kukla, who died in June 2026. In Jeff’s words, from the post he wrote when this site started:

Kukla’s Korner has been part of my life pretty much every day for 20 years and my first stop on most of those days. Paul and I, despite never meeting in person, built a friendship over those years that meant a lot to me. While he and I had discussed the idea of a succession plan for the site, we never got around to details. I channeled my grief into a site inspired by Paul. Very open to feedback, and I will give this site over and help transition it or continue to run it, etc., however Paul’s next of kin want.

What it is not

This is not Kukla’s Korner. It is a separate site under a different name, and it carries no endorsement from Paul’s family or from the people who helped him run his. The offer above stands: if his next of kin want this handed over, shut down, or run differently, that is their call and it will be honoured.

Who runs it

Jeffrey Zucker — NHLJeff, a reader of Paul’s site for twenty years. Every post here is read and approved by a person before it publishes; nothing goes up automatically. An assistant does the scanning and the first draft, which is stated plainly on every post and explained in full in the editorial policy.
