What this is

KK Hockey is a hockey news site that chooses stories by hand, quotes a short part of each, names the outlet that reported it and links back. It is run by one person, in memory of Paul Kukla. It is not affiliated with the NHL, the NHLPA, any club, or with Kukla’s Korner as it existed before.

Other people’s work

The excerpts, headlines and photographs that came from somewhere else belong to whoever made them, and are used here as a short quotation with attribution and a link to the original. If you are a publisher and think a quote here is too long, or you want it gone, write to hello@kkhockey.com and say so. It will be shortened or removed — you will not need a lawyer and you will not be argued with. That is the policy whether or not any particular use would hold up as fair use.

Our work

The writing that is ours — the editor’s notes, the roundups, the posts written here — you are welcome to quote the same way we quote others: a short part of it, with the site named and a link back. Please do not republish whole posts, and please do not feed the site wholesale into something that reproduces it.

Comments

Comments are yours. You keep whatever rights you have in them, and you give us permission to show them on the site. Keep it civil and about hockey: no abuse, no harassment, no bigotry, no spam, nothing illegal, and nothing that pretends to be somebody it is not. Anything that crosses those lines may be removed, and an account that keeps crossing them may be blocked. These are judgement calls made by a person; if you think one was wrong, say so and it will be looked at again.

Contests and picks

The standings contest, the nightly picks and the polls are for fun. There is no entry fee and nothing is wagered. Where a prize is offered it is described in the post that offers it, and that post is the whole of the rules; shipping may be limited by where you are, which will be said up front. Entries that look automated may be refused or discarded, and a contest may be corrected or cancelled if something breaks — that will be said plainly rather than quietly.

No warranty

The site is offered as it is. Accuracy is taken seriously — see the editorial policy for the standard it is held to — but hockey reporting is often wrong before it is right, and a story here can be a report rather than a fact. Nothing on this site is advice, and nothing here should be relied on for betting. We do not promise the site will be available or correct, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for what follows from reading it.

Changes

These terms can change; the date at the top says when they last did. If a change matters, it will be said on the site rather than slipped in.
