Ben Kindel exited Monday's exhibition game against the Buffalo Sabres prior to the second period with a lower-body injury, the team announced .

The 19-year-old is entering his second year with the Penguins after breaking into the league last season as an 18-year-old rookie. In 77 regular-season games, the Coquitlam, B.C. native had 17 goals and 35 points, tied for eighth among rookie scoring.
