Claude Giroux returning to Ottawa Senators on new deal
from Sportsnet,
Claude Giroux is staying in the nation’s capital after exploring the open market.
The veteran forward agreed to a new contract with the Senators on Monday, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reports. Terms of the contract weren't immediately reported.
Giroux, 38, spent the past four seasons with the Senators, where he reached playoff berths the past two seasons.
A native of nearby Hearst, Ont., Giroux was previously the longtime captain of the Philadelphia Flyers, who drafted him 22nd overall in 2006, before trading him at the 2022 deadline to the Florida Panthers.
