Rangers sign Braden Schneider to one-year contract

Schneider has inked a one-year contract worth $5.5 million with the Rangers to avoid a salary arbitration hearing, per Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman .
Schneider, 24, recorded two goals and 16 assists in 82 games with the Rangers last season.
The right-shot defenceman from Prince Albert, Sask., has appeared in 368 career NHL games, all with New York, posting 20 goals and 67 assists.
