Drake Batherson has locked in for eight more years with the Ottawa Senators , just hours before the deadline to sign for that long.

Batherson and the Senators agreed to terms on an eight-year contract extension, the team announced Tuesday. It is the largest contract in franchise history and comes with an average annual value of $10.5 million.
