Sheldon Keefe Clarifies Devils Three-Goalie Situation

NEWARK — David Rittich won the first New Jersey Devils preseason game. Yet, Sheldon Keefe admits it’s not his net.

Rittich stopped 23 of 24 shots in a 2-1 win over the New York Islanders on Sunday. Connor Brown scored the winner. The Devils spent the first period and the start of the second on “a parade to the box,” and the veterans who were dressed — Cody Glass, Brenden Dillon, Declan Chisholm, and Brown — had to settle the kill down. Rittich did his part when he stayed in the crease.
