Kucherov won’t re-sign with Lightning, requests trade

Superstar forward Nikita Kucherov has indicated to the Tampa Bay Lightning that he will not re-sign with the club and has requested a trade, according to TSN Hockey Insiders Chris Johnston and Pierre LeBrun.

Kucherov, 33, is in the final season of an eight-year, $76 million contract that carries a $9.5 million cap hit. He also has a modified 10-team list of destinations he is willing to be traded to, per LeBrun.
