Nedeljkovic on How Sharks Improve Team Defense, Askarov’s Growth, Warsofsky’s Extension
from San Jose Hockey Now,
Ahead of last season, Mike Grier traded a 2028 third-round pick for the 30-year-old netminder. Nedeljkovic had struggled at times with the Pittsburgh Penguins and brought his game and talkative personality to the Sharks.
Nedeljkovic was not only acquired for his talent, but to fill the role of Yaroslav Askarov’s mentor. The veteran goalie played 40 games last season and held a .896 save-percentage, actually better than Askarov’s. He signed a two-year, $6 million extension in March.
