Rogers, Prime Video announce 12-year NHL partnership

Rogers and Prime Video announced Tuesday a 12-year sublicencing agreement for NHL rights in Canada, making Prime Video the exclusive home to Wednesday Night Hockey and some early-round Stanley Cup Playoff games.

The agreement begins with this coming season and will comprise of at least 26 regular-season games, two first-round playoff series and one second-round playoff series per year.

“Our partnership with Prime Video builds on the strong foundation we have established together and reinforces NHL hockey as the most valuable sports content in Canada,” Tony Staffieri, president and CEO of Rogers, said in a joint release.

Broadcasts will be available in English and French, with the first Wednesday Night Hockey broadcast on Prime Video taking place Sept. 30.
